Google Begins Replying to More Nexus One Complaints Google appears to be trying to boost its customer support for Nexus One customers, posting replies to many more queries on its online forum. Google has come under fire since the launch of the Nexus One after hundreds of messages were posted with complaints or questions about the phone. Many customers said that after calling T-Mobile they were referred to HTC, the phone's maker, or the reverse. Google does not have a customer-service phone line, and customers sending e-mails were being told to wait one or two days for a reply.

The company, an independent security certification vendor, announced the Japan Government Information Security Professional (JGISP) credential focused on the special requirements of doing security for that nation. ISC(2) worked with the Japan Network Security Association (JNSA) to develop the JGISP. W. Hord Tipton, executive director of (ISC)2, had this to say in the press release as to why the certification was developed:
At least two years of experience in at least two of four security-related domains are required before taking the test. The credential is good for three years, and requires 20 continuing education credits per year to maintain. The JGISP has a Japanese-language home page on the ISC(2) site. Based on this, I wonder if a similar U.S. government security credential is coming. There are certainly tons of security requirements already on the books, and more are surely coming. If it makes sense for Japan, why not the U.S., which is more complex? Security Cert Goes Japanese originally appeared on About.com Tech Certification on Saturday, September 19th, 2009 at 07:50:11. Starting in 2010, SYNC-equipped Ford cars and trucks will use not only currently available communications technologies (such as hands-free calling, audible text messages, and real-time traffic), they will also be "rolling Wi-Fi hotspots." This is perfect for when your school-age offspring needs to hop on the Internet for last-minute research, or -- more likely -- for businesspeople hacking out e-mails without paying much attention to the road. Functioning much in the same way as hotspot cards from wireless providers, a small data card will be implanted in the vehicle allowing for connection without the hassle of cords. According to this year's U.S. IT Salary Survey from InformationWeek, technology pros shouldn't get too optimistic when asking for a pay raise in 2010 - because it's pretty unlikely that they're going to receive one. The survey found that the median pay raise for IT pros in 2010 is zero percent. That's right – zilch – and unfortunately, it applies to both base salaries and total compensation, including bonuses. Here are just a few of the other findings of the survey, based on responses from 20,492 IT pros who participated between November 2009 and January 2010:
